After weeks of boxoffice lows, exhibitors finally hit the HEIGHTS.

Warner Bros./MRC’s R rated romance WUTHERING HEIGHTS put smiles back on theatre owners’ faces, opening to $40M at 3,682 theatres for the four day Presidents Weekend, per Comscore (3 days: $34.8M/$9,451). Valentine’s Day falling on a Saturday helped drive ticket sales for the  steamy date-night film. BUDGET BUZZ: $80M to acquire rights. Hollywood Buzz-ards say Netflix lost to WB despite offering HEIGHTS $150M for a streaming release.

HEIGHTS also did $42M internationally for a worldwide cume of $82M. Directed and written by Emerald Fennell (PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN), her screenplay is based on the novel by Emily Brontë. Starring are Margot Robbie, Jacob Elordi & Hong Chau. It’s tracking best for first choice with women over 25 (five points over norm). Rotten Tomatoes critics are a blah 63%, but audiences are happier at 81%.

Sony’s PG original animated action adventure GOAT opened #2 at 3,863 theatres to $32M (3 days: $26M/$6,731), per Comscore. BUDGET BUZZ: $80M to produce.

Directed by Tyree Dillihay (first time feature), it’s tracking best for first choice with men under 25 (12 points over norm). Rotten Tomatoes critics like it at 80% and audiences are cheering at 93%.

Amazon MGM Studios’ R rated crime thriller CRIME 101 opened #3 TO $17.8M at 3,161 theatres (3 days: $15.1M/$4,789). It’s tracking best for first choice with men over 25 (three points over norm). BUDGET BUZZ: $90M to produce.

Directed by Bart Layton (THE IMPOSTER), it stars Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan & Halle Berry. Rotten Tomatoes critics are thumbs-up at 87% and audiences are good at 85%.

Domestic ticket sales were $119.2M for three days, according to Comscore Head of Marketplace Trends Paul Dergarabedian. That’s up 93.1% from the prior weekend, but down 23% vs. this time last year. Comscore’s year to date tally has 2026 at $899.8M, up 8.14% from $832.1M in 2025. The prior weekend had 2026 up 9.75% vs. 2025.

Meanwhile, back at the multiplexes: Disney/20th Century Studios’ SEND HELP was #4 in weekend three with $9.4M (-48%), per Comscore, at 2,975 theatres (3 days: $8.97M/-1%/$3,014). It’s done $47.9M domestic. BUDGET BUZZ: $40M to produce.

The PG rom-com SOLO MIO from Angel/A Higher Standard’s finished fifth in weekend two with $8M at 3,000 theatres (3 days: $6.4M/-8.5%/$2,135). It’s done $16.9M domestic.

Next weekend (2/20/26) 🐝🐝🐝🐝: This could be a good weekend to be home streaming.

20th Century Studios’ PG-13 sci-fi action adventure PREDATOR: BADLANDS began streaming 2/12 on Hulu & Hulu on Disney+. It opened last 11/7 to $40M and did $91.1M domestic & $184.6M worldwide on a budget of $105M.

Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (PREY), it stars Elle Fanning & Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi.
