Now playing below — our HOLLYWOOD AWARDS BUZZ look at Focus Features’ CONCLAVE where Ralph Fiennes is the Cardinal heading the process of selecting a successor after a beloved Pope’s unexpected death. The trail of secrets he uncovers could shake the Church’s foundations.

Directed by Edward Berger (ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT), its screenplay by Peter Straughan (TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY) is based on Robert Harris’ book. CONCLAVE, which runs 120 minutes, opened in theatres 10/25/24.

CONCLAVE’s BAFTA win for best picture (plus best editing, adapted screenplay & Outstanding British Film) gave it a late in the game momentum that some leading Oscarologists think could carry it over the line.
