
Looking at this weekend’s boxoffice skies, sunny & hot sums it up. Thanks to Disney/20th Century Studios’ “KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES,” Hollywood handicappers are buzzing about a domestic opening to $50M or more and sizzling ticket sales globally.
Meanwhile, the rain clouds are moving in as last weekend’s top film, Universal’s “THE FALL GUY,” starring Ryan Gosling & Emily Blunt, slips to second place with around $10-11M.
Next week, we’ll see if Paramount/Maximum Effort’s opening of “IF,” starring Ryan Reynolds, topples APES from first place.
